Utility News & Rate Analysis
Michigan's energy landscape is currently facing significant shifts that directly impact household and business budgets.
Record-Breaking Rate Hike Requests
Both major Michigan utilities have recently submitted substantial rate increase proposals to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC):
- Consumers Energy: Has filed for a $456 million electric rate increase, the largest request from the utility in over 20 years. If approved, average residential bills could see an estimated 9.8% increase starting in May 2027.
- DTE Energy: Following a $250 million increase in early 2026, DTE has proposed an additional $474 million hike. A final decision from the MPSC is expected soon.

The Green Panel installation crew has completed a significant commercial endeavor for Verde Capital Management. This expansive 244-panel installation is engineered to generate a substantial 102 kWh for the facility, providing robust, clean power to the office building.
